MEET THE MAKER
Roy Turner-Durrant (1925-1998)
Born in Lavenham, Suffolk, Turner-Durrant served in the Suffolk Regiment in the second World War, going on to study at Camberwell School of Art under John Minton.  He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and in numerous London galleries, developing and refining his abstract style over the course of a long painting career.  The subject of a landmark exhibition at the Fine Art Society in 2008, his work is included in public art collections including Kettles Yard and the Imperial War Museum.
