Andrew Lanyon (born 1947)

The son of celebrated British painter Peter Lanyon, Andrew was born in St Ives, where his father worked alongside such luminaries as Ben Nicholson and Naum Gabo.  His delicate, almost dreamlike work is greatly influenced by those British modernists, presenting a surreal and decidedly whimsical view of his home town in his trademark muted colour palette.  His work is in collections including the V&A Museum, London and Museum of Modern Art, New York.
